“Be my wife.” the young man softly spoke. Holding his love, both run away from that cold and dirty place.
Watching the scene, sitting close to the bar and pretending hear what the bartender was saying, Vincent smiled. Turning to the bartender, who was now washing a few glasses, he remembered his days of glory. The days when he was young and could do everything he wanted to. But now, he sadly, remembered what he couldn’t do. Not even him, Vincent, could turn back the time.
And for only one second he thought about his life before the Veritas team. Things were so much easier and charming, the place where he was truly happy. Closing his eyes he allowed himself to back in time. To back to the moment when he made the most important decision of his life
“Is that it?” The woman with a soft voice and a special accent asked.
“ I hope it’s not” Vincent grabbed his pack and walked away. He never looked back.
“ When he’ll come back? He promised!” The 7 years old children who was standing close to the woman, said trying to make her mom happy. But inside the little girl knew that nothing could make her mom better.
A few minutes later, Vincent was flying to a meet with his new boss. An old friend called Solomon Zond.
Coming back to the reality, he understood why he was sitting on that bar. She had been his true love, the only women he loved and now something Inside of him, was telling that he had to come back. A force took over his body but before he could run to his love again a strange feeling stopped him. It was the first time he felt that in many years. He felt fear.

The street was dark and silent. She was the only one there; the rest of the city was now resting. Wearing nothing more than just a small black leather dress and a pair of boots, she was confident. After 10 years learning about the world, seeing new things she was backing home. Finally.
Suddenly stopping, she finally found what she was looking for. A church. Holding her Virgem Maria image on her hand she made a small pray for her mom and leaved without turning back. No one saw the tears falling for her brown eyes.

Nikko was going to his dad office when he heard Vincent and Solomon discussing something that sounded really important. But he couldn’t put a finger on it. When he heard the name Luana, his heart almost stopped. He couldn’t believe that after almost 10 years he was hearing that name again. She had been his only friend when he has traveling with his mom and dad. They had a lot fun together and with her Nikko shared his first kiss.
Without thinking twice, he opened the door of his father office asking for anything about Luana, the girl he kissed and maybe the girl he loved.
“What’s going on here?” Solomon asked when saw his son opening the door.
“I want to know about her.” Nikko almost demanded.
“About who? Solomon moved uncomfortable in behind his desk.
“Luana! Tell me about her!” Looking at both man stopped in front of him, he asked again.
“Calm down, Nikko!” Vincent calmly spoke. “I know you want to know about her, but there’s nothing to know about her or anything else.”
“What you mean by that?” Nikko was felling a mix of fear and concern. And his voice didn’t hid that.
“Sit down! It’s going to be a long talk.” Solomon completed.

Ipanema’s beach.

Walking on the sand, looking at the sun. She felt glad for living so close of such a beautiful beach. Every day was like living in a dream. The day was warm and the sun was rising. The view was great with flowers full of perfume, what made it even better. Everything was so perfect; she loved the summer there. I could live like this forever, oh yes I could, she thought.
Watching the beautiful view one more time and taking a deep breath she remember of her baby daughter. Well, not a baby anymore. Adriana almost didn’t believe when Luana called her telling the good news. Her daughter was in Buenos Aires, and today she was going to be with her again.
Looking at her clock, she knew it was time to come back inside. Adriana had to do much to do in so short time. The idea for making a welcome home party belonged to Ricardo, her brother. They had call a some friends and family. Checking her clock again, she made a mental note, just a few hours for hugging my baby.

She loved Rio.
Luana conscious was full. She had told her mom that she was going home, but a secret stopped her from flying to Rio. Unfinished business. This secret had made her spent more time away from home, and she hated that.
First thing she did after lading was rent a car.

The Veritas team was packing to fly to Rio de Janeiro. They had voted for a vacation, Solomon thought that after being captured by the Chinese government a trip to Rio could do miracles for his son. At first he didn’t felt much confident about and the fact that he almost didn’t know anything about Vincent reasons to go there didn’t helped much.
Solomon was sitting on his room, waiting for the rest of the team get ready when Vincent came in.
“Are you ready?” Solomon asked with the voice full of concern.
“Like always” Vincent answered with a cold smile.
“Are you ok?” Now Solomon was really serious.
Turning his back to Solomon and getting ready to leave Vincent coldly added. “I will be. “

After unpacking, Luana laid on his bed. She was tired of all this craziness around here. Counting the seconds, and thinking about her mom, she made her trip to dreamland.
“Why are you doing this?” They little girl asked with eyes full of tears.
“Because I have to.”
“I don’t understand.“ she hugged him with those beautiful brown eyes. “I love you. We both do! Please don’t go!” the girl was now begging for him to stay.
“I love you both too, but I can’t stay here with you.“
“But I want you to stay. Why can’t you stay?”
Falling on his knees, he hugged the little girl and whispered in her ears. “Because I love you”
That was enough to make the girl understand why he was leaving. But it didn’t stop her from hugging him ever harder. They loved each other so much. And they new that love sometimes can be very dangerous, for both sides.
Opening her eyes, and realizing that it had been just another dream. Another bad dream. She slowly began to cry. That fake confidence that she had became so used with was now fading away. Luana wasn’t more the heartless girl that everyone knew so well; she was just a girl with a sad story to tell.
Getting up fast, she run to the shower, and laid his on the bathtub for hours. Deep inside she knew that even the longest shower wouldn’t clean her soul. After hurting some many feelings she stopped pretend and become that women that everyone hated so much. And when the tear finally stopped falling she remembered of something even more tragic. Luana just lived 18 years until now. The woman that everyone hated, it’s nothing more than just a girl.

“C’mon Calvin, let’s go!” Juliet was melting there waiting for Calvin buy a map of the city.
“Calm down, we don’t have to go to work” Calving was wearing a very amusing heat that he had bought in his last vacation. It made Juliet smile.
The rest of the Veritas team was already leaving the place. Solomon, Vincent and Nikko weren’t as excited as Juliet and Calvin, they had been in the city before. The only thing that the three of were thinking was their own problems. Vincent was afraid of Adriana’s reaction. Nikko wanted to see his friend and Solomon was trying to keep them alive and free. He hadn’t forgot that he and Nikko got kicked out of the country years before. Moments later, they rented a car and leaved.

Adriana apartment.
2: 58 pm.
When she heard the news, her heart stopped. That couldn’t be happening with her or her daughter. Luana, her baby daughter hadn’t called. Adriana never felt so worry or scary before. All the years of training and hard work finally worth it. Before allowed herself to think about it, she run to her room and began to pack. It was time for payback. Someone was trying to kill her baby, and she had to make this person pay.
When Adriana, was ready to leave Ricardo stopped her with a simple gesture. That gesture meant “no”. She didn’t like that, but family is family, no matter what. That was how she learned it. The older son has to take of the family. She wasn’t the man of the family. Ricardo was.
Ricardo always was the power of the family. After the death of their parents, they were forced to survive by themselves. And like that old saying: What doesn’t kill you only make you stronger. But how they survived is another story.
The two bothers started to learn something from an old neighbor called Jonas. He had told the both everything he knew, and after both got older, they decided to be like Mr. Jonas. They had become part of the Veritas Foundation. And in a short time after that both met another young man called Solomon.
“You can’t go, it’s not your problem.” Ricardo said in a hard ton.
“Not my problem? She’s my daughter and she’s in danger.” She was scared and trying to hide the truth.
“I know. And she had learn from the best.” Holding her sister close he added. “She has learned from you.”

Vincent’s room
3: 12 pm.
Vincent was unpacking his bags, when he felt the fear taking over his body. Sitting on the sofa admiring the amazing view of the Copacabana beach he saw the place where he had let them. It was still there. The street with all the different colors covered with white sand. The Bar do Juca was also there. It was Juca who taught him how to drink pinga. Vincent smiled at memory.
He felt unbelievable bad, when he realized that he was scared for being here. How could he felt scared in such a great place? Vincent thought for a few moments and decided go to the beach. It was a hot day and he wanted to drink something natural. But not pinga. He had learned his lesson the first time. I’ll let this particular drink for the natives, he thought.

“How hot?” the soft voice on the other side of the line asked.
“Really hot!” Juliet said. Even with 104ş degrees she was having fun. “We are waiting for you”
“Thank you Juliet, I wish I could be there you.” Maggie was in Berlin working with a special team creating the new Veritas software.
“I have to go now, the beach is calling me!” She couldn’t wait anymore.
“See you soon, dear.” Maggie said ending with the call.
Grabbing her towel, sandals and sunglasses Juliet lived the room.

Calvin and Nikko were going to the beach when they met Juliet in the corridor. They were surprised by her look; she was wearing a black baby suit with sandals and sunglasses.
“Wow” Calvin let it escaped when he saw her.
“What?” Juliet didn’t get it.
“You’re looking…” Nikko didn’t dare finish it.
“I’m looking what? Oh no! Too small?” now she was pure concern. When Nikko and Calvin started to laugh she felt dumb, but still asked it. “What? “
“Oh nothing” both of them answered with a big smiled. “Let’s go the beach!”
The three of them walked away, leaving the hotel behind.

Morumbi stadium
3: 24 pm.
The crowd in front of her was making an incredible noise. Screams and all the kinds of sounds were taking the stadium down. She couldn’t believe she was there; the last time Luana visited the place she was with her mom. It was the end of the national championship, she would never forget.
She was watching the game from a special sit, when she realized that was alone there. Everyone had gone away what for her was very unusual. Feeling that someone was coming she got up and hid behind the door. A tall man with a strange accent came in with a bald and short one. The taller one looked like a bodyguard. The unfamiliar men sited on her place and began watch the game. Luana was watched then from behind the door.
When one of the teams scored the men smiled. The first thing she thought was “they are not Brazilian”. They didn’t know anything about soccer and they were happy for the wrong team. Minutes later both man were chatting and not in Portuguese. From behind the door, Luana could hear everything but she didn’t understood what they were saying. They were speaking German.
When the second man looked back, Luana finally get it. She knew one of those men. That was the man for who she was looking for. He had made her life a truly hell. Leaving the door behind, she stopped behind him. When he turned back again he felt in shock and pain.
“Hi daddy!” he felt from the chair without taking his eyes away from her “it hurts, doesn’t it?”
She had stabbed him on the back. And now he was bleeding on her feet, she enjoyed the power. The second man, his bodyguard, was now up from his sit but with the last breath the man bleeding told him to stop. And so the man did. Sitting again on his chair he just watched his boss lying on the floor. After watching her father bleed Luana cleaned her hands and told him to leave her and her family alone.
“Why you came back?“ the man on the floor asked.
“Unfinished business.” She coldly answered. And in seconds she leaved the room with the both men and the stadium behind. Luana finally was backing home.
